SM-3 Block IIA failure carries no 'fleetwide' implications, MDA sticking with vendor team

The January flight test failure of a Standard Missile-3 Block IIA guided missile interceptor does not have “fleetwide” implications affecting other SM-3 variants or other missile systems in the U.S. inventory, according to the office of the Pentagon's top weapons developer which raised the specter of such ramifications this spring.
