MDA lifts stop-work order on SM-3 Block IIA deliveries following intercept success

The Missile Defense Agency has lifted a stop-work order for Standard Missile-3 Block IIA guided missiles imposed on manufacturer Raytheon after the new Aegis ballistic missile interceptor failed in a key flight test a year ago. The move allows the government to begin to take receipt of a stockpile of the new weapons manufactured over the course of 2018.
