Textron said today sales in its most recent quarter dropped in both its Textron Systems and Bell Helicopter units.

At Textron Systems, quarterly sales were $345 million, down from $489 million during the same three-month period a year earlier.

The reduction reflected "lower [Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle] deliveries at Textron Marine & Land Systems and lower Unmanned Systems volume," the company said.

The unit's quarterly profit was $37 million, the same as a year prior.

Bell Helicopter reported quarterly sales of $827 million, down from $983 million a year earlier. The company attributed the decline to "lower military volume." The unit's quarterly profit was $108 million, down $6 million from the prior year.
