Lockheed Martin today revealed an independent research and development effort to increase the ammunition capacity of the Air Force and Navy variants of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Currently, the fifth-generation aircraft is capable of carrying two AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles in each of its two weapon bays.
