Science Applications International Corp. said today sales in its most recent quarter reached $1.6 billion, up 37% from the same three-month period a year earlier.

SAIC attributed the growth to the acquisition of Engility and noted that, excluding those additional sales, revenue declined almost 3%.

The company's quarterly profit hit $55 million, up 12% from the prior year.

In a call with analysts this morning, Nazzic Keene, set to become SAIC's chief executive at the end of next month, said the integration with Engility is going smoothly and the two companies are working together to pursue new business opportunities.

"We are seeing some good momentum there," she said.
