Rubrik names Kennedy to head federal business

Cloud data management company Rubrik this week named Tom Kennedy vice president of federal.

He "is responsible for all aspects of Rubrik's federal business, including strategic development and execution," the company said.

Kennedy previously was vice president and general manager of the public sector at Veritas. He also has worked at Symantec.

In an interview with Inside Defense, Kennedy said the federal business operates in four markets: intelligence, defense, federal civilian and federal healthcare. So far, he said, it's seen the most success in the Defense Department and with intelligence agencies.

The federal unit, based in Tysons, VA, has about 40 employees, according to Kennedy.
