The week ahead

The House and Senate are on their summer recess, while senior military officials speak at the annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium in Alabama as well as several Air Force Association Mitchell Institute events. Additionally, military contractors hold a series of earnings calls and presentations to Wall Street defense industry analysts.

Tuesday

U.S. Northern Command chief Gen. Terrence O'Shaughnessy, Army Space and Missile Defense Command chief Lt. Gen. James Dickinson and Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) speak at the annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium in Huntsville, AL.

BWX Technologies, Maxar Technologies and TransDigm Group executives are slated to discuss their companies' respective quarterly earnings.

Oshkosh will present at the Jefferies 2019 Global Industrials Conference in New York.

Wednesday

Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Mike Griffin and Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-RI) speak at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium.

Air Force Director of Global Power Programs Maj. Gen. David Krumm and Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability Director Maj. Gen. Michael Fantini speak at a Mitchell Hour event on "Next-Generation Air Superiority."

Aerojet Rocketdyne, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions and Leidos are slated to present at the Jefferies conference.

Thursday

Army Futures Command chief Gen. John Murray and Missile Defense Agency Director Vice Adm. Jon Hill speak at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium.

Maxar Technologies will present at the Jefferies conference.

Kratos will participate in the Canaccord Genuity Growth Conference in Boston.

Friday

Air Force Col. Dennis Bythewood, program executive officer for space development at the Space and Missile Systems Center, speaks on "Layered Defense" at a Mitchell Institute Space Breakfast Series event.
