Lawmakers heighten oversight of GBSD acquisition, Air Force-NNSA coordination

The defense authorization bill that House and Senate conference members released Monday night requires the Air Force to identify risks and costs if the service receives only one proposal to develop the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent. The Air Force secretary would have to include these details in an unclassified report to congressional defense committees no later than 60 days after awarding a contract.
