DOT&E: LRASM experienced hardware problems during F/A-18 testing

An air-launched, anti-ship missile being purchased by the Navy and Air Force experienced "hardware reliability failures" last year during testing on a strike fighter, according to a new report published Thursday by Pentagon weapon testers. The Offensive Anti-Surface Warfare Increment 1 "showed partially successful performance results after it experienced two hardware reliability failures that the program office mitigated," the director of operational test and evaluation wrote of the weapon system's quick-reaction assessment onboard a Navy F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet.
