ACV reliability growth lower than projected

The Marine Corps' new Amphibious Combat Vehicle showed lower reliability growth than anticipated, according to the Pentagon's top weapons tester. Director of Operational Test and Evaluation Robert Behler in his annual report published last week said the vehicle's "demonstrated reliability was 27% of its planned growth estimate." "The program intends to implement several engineering change proposals throughout the [engineering and manufacturing development] phase to improve reliability," Behler wrote. "The suspension and steering subsystems remain the primary drivers of reduced reliability."...
