The head of U.S. Transportation Command said today the Air Force's budget request should be revised to allow for retention of aerial refueling aircraft slated for divestiture because of ongoing delays to the Boeing-made KC-46 tanker. Gen. Stephen Lyons, chief of TRANSCOM, told the Senate Armed Services Committee he is "working very closely with" Air Force leaders to "bring back" 13 KC-135s and 10 KC-10s the service has proposed cutting.
