DOD says binding agreement with cyber certification board to be announced soon

Pentagon acquisition officials are nearing a legally binding agreement with the industry-based accreditation body recently formed to certify auditors who will be expected to assess the cybersecurity of more than a thousand contractors this year. The agreement, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding, will be signed by the Defense Department and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body to specify roles and responsibilities for certifying defense contractors, with implications across all sectors and for the entire government procurement...
