Primer AI brings on McGurk and Gordon

Primer AI, a San Francisco-based machine learning company, said today it has named Sue Gordon a strategic adviser to its board and Brett McGurk as a member of the board.

The two will be tasked with strategically guiding "the direction and expansion of Primer's product offerings to the world's largest government agencies, financial institutions, and Fortune 50 companies."

Gordon was principal deputy director of national intelligence from 2017 to 2019, while McGurk was special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS from 2015 to 2018.

In a statement, Gordon said Primer is "one of the only technology companies I've encountered that has the potential to make a strategic impact across the national security space."

Primer said more than 20% of its employees have worked at the Pentagon or intelligence agencies. The company opened an office in Washington last year "to support the fastest-growing sector of our business."
