BWX Technologies said this week sales during its most recent quarter in its nuclear operations group, which includes its naval work, totaled $424 million, up 39% from the same three-month period a year earlier.
The company attributed the gains to "higher production volume including Columbia-class [submarine] components and the timing of procurement of long-lead material."
The unit's quarterly profit reached $90 million, up 57% from the prior year.
Rex Geveden, BWXT's chief executive, told analysts during a call today the group has seen "no notable disruptions to date" from the coronavirus crisis.
