New bill repeals legislation requiring contractors cover costs of lost bid protests

The Senate Armed Services Committee has approved a fiscal year 2021 defense authorization bill that would repeal a previous provision requiring large defense contractors to reimburse the Pentagon for the cost of processing losing bid protests. The provision targeted for repeal comes from the FY-18 National Defense Authorization Act and was framed as a means to deter frivolous bid protests.
