Raytheon to acquire Blue Canyon Technologies

Raytheon Technologies said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire Blue Canyon Technologies, a privately held company that specializes in small satellites and spacecraft systems components.

The deal is expected to close early next year.

Raytheon said the Boulder, CO-based Blue Canyon, which has more than 200 employees, would report to its intelligence and space unit. Raytheon said Blue Canyon, which was founded in 2008 and has more than 90 satellites in production, has worked on missions for the Air Force, NASA and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
