DOD's updated '5000.01' defense acquisition system directive

On July 28, 2022 the Pentagon released an update to its flagship directive on the defense acquisition system signed by Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks that "requires the military departments to establish and maintain an independent operational test agency that reports directly to the appropriate military service chief."
