House and Senate authorizers agree on A-10 divestments, procurement plus-ups

House and Senate authorizers have agreed to greenlight divestments of the A-10 Warthog and raise Air Force procurement, according to text of the annual defense policy bill released Tuesday evening. The Air Force asked Congress for permission to phase out 21 A-10s along with other platforms. Authorizers would approve those retirements and limit others while adding $2.6 billion for aircraft purchases.
