Navy announces full-rate production for CH-53K

The CH-53K King Stallion has been cleared to enter full-rate production, according to a Friday announcement from the Navy. The CH-53K, which achieved initial operational capability in April , will replace the legacy CH-53E Super Stallion as the Marine Corps’ primary heavy-lift helicopter. Lockheed Martin subsidiary Sikorsky is the program’s prime contractor.
