Missile Defense Tests Successful, DOD Says (Updated)

The Pentagon's national missile defense system successfully shot down a target missile today in a test the Missile Defense Agency says was not designed with an intercept as a core goal. "Although not a primary objective for the data collection flight test, an intercept of the target warhead was achieved," MDA said in a statement.
