DOD CUTS R&D PROJECTS BY $79 MILLION TO KEEP AFRICOM ON TRACK

The Pentagon is cutting $79 million from research and development projects and injecting the money into Army operations accounts to ensure the new U.S. Africa Command meets its goal of attaining full operational capability by Oct. 1.
