DOD Officials Ready New Pakistan Aid Plan for Lawmakers' Scrutiny

Defense Department leaders are preparing to brief lawmakers about the details of a still-classified plan to bolster Pakistan's ability to fight insurgents within its borders, according to military officials. The plan, spearheaded by U.S. Central Command, is billed as the first comprehensive effort by the United States to boost the Pakistani security forces' abilities to quell insurgents in the country's remote Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
