CENTCOM Plans for Expected Uptick in Afghanistan War Contracts

U.S. Central Command officials have proposed a new contract-management organization with an expanded focus on supporting operations in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan as leaders in Washington hammer out a new security strategy for the region, according to sources and documents. Plans for a Joint Theater Support Contracting Command, or JTSCC, are detailed in a Feb. 18 CENTCOM briefing presented at a gathering of combatant command logisticians last month.
