PROPOSED PATROL AIRCRAFT SALE AIMS TO HELP MEXICO FIGHT CARTELS

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has proposed selling a Persuader maritime patrol aircraft to Mexico to assist that government in its fight against increasingly violent drug cartels. The sale of the plane and related parts and equipment is valued at $60 million, according to an April 3 agency statement, which says the deal contributes to the foreign policy and national security of the United States.
