Senate Appropriators Want Air Force to Develop Exportable F-22

The Senate Appropriations Committee intends to include a provision in its version of the fiscal year 2010 defense budget encouraging the Air Force to develop an exportable version of the Lockheed Martin F-22A fighter, according to documents obtained by Inside the Air Force . Lawmakers want the service to use an unspecified portion of the $569 million marked for F-22A-related research and development for the effort, according to a draft of the committee's report accompanying the FY-10 defense appropriations bill...
