Pentagon Proposes New Arms Shipments To Lebanon's Special Forces

Concerned that Hezbollah's rise is further destabilizing Lebanon, the Pentagon is preparing to bolster the country's special forces with new shipments of weapons, ammunition and vehicles. In a June 11 letter to Congress, Defense Secretary Robert Gates proposed spending $23 million on the gear, including mortars, machine guns and humvees.
