Nett Warrior Morphs Into Smaller, Smartphone-Like 'End User Device'

The Army's new plan to provide dismounted soldiers with a tactical link to the battlefield network has led the service to cast off previous designs for the chest-mounted Nett Warrior system in favor of a lighter, smartphone-based solution. The 13-pound Nett Warrior system, an offshoot of the canceled Land Warrior effort, will now consist of a Joint Tactical Radio System Rifleman Radio, an adapter cord and a smartphone-like "End User Device."
