L3 Technologies' new executive leadership team should be complete by the end of this calendar year, according to the company's chief executive.

Chris Kubasik, who joined the company in 2015 and became CEO and president Jan. 1, told Wall Street analysts during a May 1 quarterly earnings call that the company is "more than halfway through on the changes. Three out of the four segment presidents have been in their positions a year or less. I think by the end of this calendar year we'll have the entire team in place and ready to go, but I'd say it's 70-80 percent already done."

Kubasik noted that some of the executive turnover was "just the natural attrition and retirement. The company's 21 years old and we've got a great team and we're continuing to make it better so I'm pleased to have so many people wanting to come on and join L3 and execute on our vision."

In January, L3 announced it had named Sean Stackley, the former Navy acquisition chief, corporate vice president for strategic advanced programs and technology, and retired Army Lt. Gen. Pat O'Reilly, former Missile Defense Agency director, corporate vice president of engineering.

In addition to its quarterly earnings, L3 announced May 1 that John Kim had joined the company as vice president of investor relations and analytics. "He will be working closely with Ralph [D'Ambrosio, senior vice president and chief financial officer] and Heidi [Wood, senior vice president of strategy and technology]," Kubasik said during the call.

Prior to joining L3, Kim spent more than a dozen years as an equity research analyst covering the industrial sector, including aerospace and defense. Most recently, he was a senior analyst at SAB Capital. Before that, he was a senior analyst at Ulysses Management LLC, according to an L3 statement.

Kim holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a bachelor's degree from Williams College and is a certified financial analyst.

Additionally, L3 announced last week that Melanie Heitkamp had been appointed as the company's chief human resources officer, effective May 21, replacing the retiring Kevin Weiss.

Heitcamp has more than 20 years of HR and business experience, working at companies like Leidos, Lockheed Martin and Target. She has an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College, according to an L3 statement.
