Air Force, Boeing expect new KC-46 schedule in December

The Air Force expects to finalize a new schedule for the KC-46 tanker program by December, following a breach that pushed back prime contractor Boeing's delivery of the first 18 aircraft by five months. The service announced in May that because of difficulties related to certifying the aircraft's Wing Aerial Refueling Pods and Centerline Drogue System, the required assets available milestone, which calls for 18 fully certified tankers, would be delayed from August 2017 to October 2017.
