Marine Task Force Supporting SOUTHCOM Set To Deploy To Central America

The Marine Corps is establishing a Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force unit to support U.S. Southern Command, with Marines set to deploy to Central America over the next few weeks, the service announced this week. The unit will be composed of 280 Marines and four CH-53E Super Stallion heavy-lift helicopters, according to a May 26 statement from Marine Corps Forces-South.
