Total FY-17 military spending, RDT&E slightly lower than previously forecast

The Pentagon's fiscal year 2017 spending proposal appears to have received at least a $600 million haircut in the budget endgame, a slight decrease that amounts to about one-tenth of 1 percent compared to the FY-17 U.S. military spending forecast bandied about late last year.
