Abraham Appoints Two Top DOE Officials to Investigate Los Alamos Security

Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham has ordered two senior-level Energy Department officials to oversee an investigation into missing computer discs from Los Alamos National Laboratory's weapons physics directorate. Deputy Energy Secretary Kyle McSlarrow and National Nuclear Security Administration chief Linton Brooks will examine "underlying security failures" at the New Mexico lab, a center for nuclear weapons research, according to a DOE statement released yesterday.
