Air Force F-15s Intercept Russian Intel Aircraft Near Iceland

Three U.S. F-15 fighters today intercepted a pair of Russian "Bear" intelligence gathering aircraft that infiltrated the air defense zone near Iceland, according to military officials. This intercept over the North Atlantic Ocean was the first of its kind since 1999, and service officials said the Russian aircraft were likely on a routine training mission, according to an Air Force official.
