Air Force to Issue Space Communications Contract Request

The Air Force has announced it will issue by Aug. 22 a request for proposals for a space-based communications system that may eliminate bandwidth restrictions faced by commanders in the field today. Air Force Space Command said yesterday it would competitively award one or two contracts to move the Transformational Communications Military Satellite program through its interim design review.
