Appropriations Conferees Vote To Preserve JLTV

Congressional appropriators have brought the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle back from the brink, approving $134 million for the Army and Marine Corps to allow the program to proceed, according a statement from the appropriations conference committee. While the amount appropriated is well below the $244 million that was requested, the funding allows the restructured JLTV program to advance into its engineering and manufacturing development phase -- something that was in doubt after Senate appropriators recommended terminating the program in September...
