Appropriators Cut $25 Million From JLTV, Add $50 Million For Humvee Recap

The House Appropriations Committee has cut $25 million from the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program request, citing requirement concerns, and has instead increased humvee recapitalization funding by $50 million, according to documents reviewed by Inside the Army . The committee believes that the operational niche that would have been filled by JLTV appears to be shrinking, in light of survivability upgrades to the humvee and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, the documents show.
