Army Laser For First Time Intercepts, Destroys Artillery Projectile

In a test yesterday in the New Mexico desert, a laser for the first time destroyed an artillery projectile in flight, according to an Army Space and Missile Defense Command announcement. The Mobile Tactical High-Energy Laser "tracked, locked and fired a burst of protons on an artillery projectile. . . .
