Army plans MAPS hard-kill system test for next fiscal year

The Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center plans to demonstrate a hard-kill modular active protection system in fiscal year 2018, according to a spokesman. Doug Halleaux said in an Aug. 22 email the demonstration stems from a contract awarded in summer 2016 to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems to deliver a MAPS framework-compliant Iron Fist light, decoupled system.
