Authorizers Call For New Technology Transition Initiative

House and Senate conferees have agreed on language in the fiscal year 2003 defense authorization bill that would establish a new plan to transition technologies faster from research labs to the field. The so-called "technology transition initiative" was included in both the House and Senate versions of the bill. Conferees finished negotiations on the final bill Nov. 12.
