Bell Boeing Ramping Up Osprey Production to 30 Tiltrotors a Year

FARNBOROUGH, ENGLAND -- Bell Helicopter Textron and Boeing plan to ramp up V-22 Osprey production to nearly 30 tiltrotors per year by 2010. Last week, the company took steps to increase production at the program's Amarillo, TX, assembly plant, Gene Cunningham, Bell-Boeing V-22 program manager, told reporters during a morning briefing. The Pentagon signed a multiyear contract for 167 Marine Corps and Air Force Ospreys in March. The company is contracted to build 26 Ospreys in 2008, according to budget...
