Bill Puts GCV, THAAD, VXX In Budget Crosshairs

The Senate Appropriations Committee today approved a fiscal year 2012 defense-spending bill that guts funding for the Army's Ground Combat Vehicle, kills development of a weather satellite and cuts a major missile defense program. The bill also cuts development funding for the VXX presidential helicopter, citing delays in the naval effort to build the Marine One of tomorrow.
