BRAC Panel Votes to Keep New London, Portsmouth Facilities Open

The Base Realignment and Closure Commission today voted against shutting down the New London submarine base in Groton, CT, and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. Seven commissioners, including Chairman Anthony Principi, voted in favor of keeping the Connecticut base open. Only one panel member, former Utah Rep.
