Bush Approves FY-04 Nuclear Stockpile, Test Readiness Appropriations

President Bush today signed a fiscal year 2004 appropriations bill that includes $6.3 billion for National Nuclear Security Administration weapons activities and another $1.3 billion for nuclear nonproliferation work. The Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act also provides more than $766 million for NNSA's Naval Reactors program, which is responsible for developing nuclear propulsion for Navy carriers and submarines.
