President Bush yesterday designated Linton Brooks as the acting administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, according to NNSA officials. Up until yesterday, Brooks was the deputy administrator for defense nuclear nonproliferation at NNSA, a semi-autonomous Energy Department agency that oversees the nation's nuclear weapons complex.
