Bush Signs Port Security Legislation

President Bush today signed the "Security and Accountability for Every Port" bill that authorizes an array of domestic and international initiatives aimed at protecting vital supply chains from terrorist attack. The legislation, for example, codifies the Container Security Initiative, created four years ago to place U.S. inspectors at foreign ports to "screen" cargo before being shipped to the United States.
