Carter Approves New DOD Acquisition Reform Plan

Pentagon procurement chief Ashton Carter last week approved new guidance on how the Defense Department will implement congressionally mandated directives designed to reform DOD's acquisition process. The directive-type memorandum (DTM), signed Dec. 4, reflects a number of new changes made to the department's weapons development and procurement process included in the fiscal year 2009 Weapons Acquisition Reform Act.
