Chambliss Confident F-22 Multiyear Plan will Clear Conference

A leading proponent of an Air Force-initiated multiyear procurement plan for the F-22 fighter aircraft rebuffed claims today that lawmakers may scrap the entire effort from the final version of the fiscal year 2007 defense authorization bill. Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) said he was confident the plan, which would allow the purchase of 60 Raptors over a three-year period, would not be an issue when the House and Senate meet later this year to hash out differences in their defense...
