Chambliss, Nelson Bill Would Establish DOD 'Intelligence Command'

Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Ben Nelson (D-NE) will introduce legislation today to create a new unified intelligence command within the Defense Department. The new command, dubbed "INTCOM" by the lawmakers, offers the new national intelligence director, the defense secretary and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff a single point of contact for military intelligence, according to a fact sheet released this week by Chambliss' office.
