Clark Expected to Step Down as Chief of Naval Operations This Year

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark is likely to step down as the Navy's top uniformed leader this summer, according to industry and naval sources. Clark already has served beyond the four-year term that is typical for military service chiefs. He became the 27th chief of naval operations in July 2000.
