Cohen Will Decide on Future of Anthrax Program Within Next Few Days

Defense Secretary William Cohen is expected to make a decision over the weekend about the future of the Pentagon's controversial Anthrax vaccination program after being briefed by program officials on several options for restructuring the vaccine process, Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. Craig Quigley said today. The Defense Department has 190,000 approved doses of the vaccine on hand, Quigley said. The department uses about 4,500 doses each day, he added.
